FOR-A To Introduce Compact, Cost-Effective, 1 M/E Multi-Format HVS-300HS Switcher At IBC 2008

Publish date:

London, UK, August 11, 2008 – FOR-A, a leading manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, will introduce the HVS-300HS HD/SD switcher at IBC 2008 in Hall 2, Stand A51/B59 during IBC 2008 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from September 12-16, 2008. The HVS-300HS features a compact main unit measuring 1RU, making it an ideal solution for use in flypacks or remote production applications that would benefit from its space-saving design. While the smaller design appeals to live and remote production needs, the size does not limit the variety of options and versatile functions found in the HVS-300HS. As a live/production video switcher the HVS-300HS provides a robust array of features and multi-functionality suitable for a wide variety of applications. The HVS-300HS supports 1080/60i, 59.94i, 50i, 24PsF, 23.98PsF, 720/60p, 59.94p, 50p, 525/60 (NTSC), 625/50 (PAL). It also contains an internal, 10-bit processor for broadcast-quality 4:2:2:4. Easy-to-use control buttons located on the front panel of the main unit allow an operator to perform all standard switcher operations such as cuts, wipes, fades and keys. Control parameters are displayed on a Preview output for ease of operation, and users can install control software to run the switcher from a PC. An external operation panel can be added for increased functionality, but will not over burden tight production quarters. When combining the external operation panel with the main unit, the entire unit measures only 3U. Other features of the HVS-300HS include: Standard HD/SD-SDI 4 input/4 output (PGM x 2, AUX x 2) Each input has a frame synchronizer and re-sizing engine, which accepts non- synchronized as well as SD/HD simultaneous inputs without external devices. Accepts up to 12 inputs and 8 outputs Variety of I/O options such as HD/SD-SDI inputs, DVI input, HD/SD analog component input, analog composite input, HD/SD analog component output, analog composite output, DVI-I output, HDMI output and HDV output in combination. Standard 16-split multiviewer in standard (4/10/16 multi-view, tally, title etc) Two channels of picture-in-picture 1 keyer (including Chroma Key) and 1 DSK. Each Keyer has its own 2D DVE Various 2D and 3D DVE transitions Two channels of still stores Each input has independent process control The new HVS-300HS switcher series from FOR-A will be available very early next year.
