, formerly Digital Vision, has unveiled key updates to its Nucoda range of grading and mastering solutions, Phoenix image media restoration and repackaging software and Golden Eye III film scanner, fully supporting end-to-end DI and restoration workflows.
New software update for Nucoda line
Image Systems will preview its 2011.2 software for the Nucoda product line, slated for delivery in October 2011. Providing increased speed and productivity, the new software is a 64-bit application allowing full memory access, essential when grading at 4K and using memory-intensive enhancement and correction tools. Based on the RED workflow, Image Systems has introduced a pan-and-scan format conversion allowing RED files to be downsized using Nucoda Film Master from full premium (4K) to half premium (HD) improving speed and quality. Nucoda 2011.2 has improved caching options allowing layers to be cached individually. Caches can also be cleaned by replacing source shots at frame level allowing greater control for colourists. To increase productivity and interoperability, Nucoda 2011.2 includes extensive support for Avid (4:4:4 and pro res) and Apple (Apple QuickTime pro res codec support for export). As part of Image Systems' continued commitment to provide customers with enhanced grading solutions the 2011.2 release software also includes third-party integration such as Sapphire 64-bit version and THX cineSpace colour management tools (64-bit).
Precision panel makes its mark
The Precision panel is now shipping to more than 50 customers worldwide. Developed in conjunction with renowned colourists, the next-generation Precision control surface for the Nucoda grading solutions features five high-resolution touchscreens with menu navigation and toolset control unavailable from any other generic or integrated panel.
Integrated grading package for new generation of colourists
With increased demand for grading solutions for on-set applications, boutique facilities and training and education providers, Image Systems is introducing Avid Artist panel support for its Nucoda Fuse entry-level grading software. This new integrated package will allow a new generation of colourists the opportunity to access the leading Nucoda grading and finishing tools at an affordable entry price point. This joint solution will be presented on the Image Systems (7.A28) and Avid stands (7.J20) throughout the show.
Integrated video restoration toolset in new Phoenix 2011.2
At IBC, Image Systems will preview its 2011.2 software for Phoenix. This release comes as a 64-bit application providing significantly increased processing performance for 4K restoration projects and when using multiple memory-intensive tools such as DVO Clarity, the foremost digital noise and film grain reducer. Image Systems will showcase Phoenix's new and much anticipated integrated DVO toolset for automatic and manual restoration of interlaced media, adding value to video tape archives. The 2011.2 release also brings a number of enhancements to allow the operator to work even faster. This includes per layer cache, a new feature to allow generation of intermediate caches from any layer that greatly enhances user interactivity, especially useful when working with multiple tools, plus a number of GUI enhancements.
Free trial of Image Systems entry-level restoration software
The company will also introduce a free 30-day trial of Phoenix Touch, its entry-level restoration software solution that combines dust busting and image repair tools for intensive automated and manual image clean up and retouch tasks.
