Hong Kong Post-Production Facility Digit Digit Embraces Autodesk Flame 2007 Systems

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Nov. 2, 2006--Autodesk, Inc. today announced that Digit Digit has upgraded its post-production pipeline with six Autodesk Flame 2007 visual effects systems running on the Linux operating system. Hong Kong-based Digit Digit delivers commercial post-production services for leading brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonald‘s, Nokia, Motorola and GM. The facility‘s pipeline also includes the Autodesk Inferno visual effects system and Autodesk Maya 3D animation, modeling and rendering software.

Flame 2007 takes advantage of 64-bit multi-core computing, storage and networking technologies to provide unprecedented productivity gains. Nicky Ng, executive director at Digit Digit, said, “In the performance-driven world of television commercial post production, the ability to quickly deliver projects in both standard- and high-definition is essential. Numerous broadcasters and post-production facilities have adopted the Autodesk Linux-based editing and visual effects systems. Ltd., Australia‘s Frame, Set & Match, Ireland‘s Radio Telefix Éireann and NBC, among others.

Nonprofit Veterans-TV Prepares to Launch Free TV Production Training for Vets and Their Families

Newly formed 501(c)3 nonprofit Veterans-TV Inc. (VETV, www.veterans-tv.org) is preparing to launch hands-on professional television production training courses for veterans of the U.S. armed forces, law enforcement veterans, and firefighters who have lost their employment due to injury or attrition. VETV is creating a mobile classroom within Denali Gold, a remote production truck donated to the cause by NEP, and will provide courses in cities across the U.S. when integration of donated broadcast equipment is complete.
