(Santa Barbara, CA/ Dallas, TX – September 2011): Less than a year after the announcement of their strategic co-development deal, Foothill Entertainment and Odyssey Pictures Corporation have three strong projects moving steadily towards greenlight. The wide-ranging agreement, which encompassed both development funding, international distribution of key Odyssey produced projects and key joint-business activities, has catapulted the Foothill programming slate forward. The partnership has resulted in a hilarious animation pilot script for a series based on the best-selling HarperCollins books Gunk Aliens, as well as a half hour pilot script for the ‘tween live action series My Momtourage & Me. Following a highly successful creative workshop also under the Foothill-Odyssey development umbrella, the relationship has spawned an 11-minute pilot storyboard for the stereoscopic 3D buddy comedy, Raz & Benny. “We are thrilled with the progress we have made on our development projects with the help and support of Odyssey,” said Foothill President Jo Kavanagh-Payne. “John Foster and his team have been ideal partners and the relationship has allowed us to advance our projects much faster with our production and broadcast partners.” Another milestone in the relationship has been with the announcement that Foothill and Odyssey will be sponsoring the Networking Lounge at this year’s MIPJunior market at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes. The Lounge will be a hub for the hundreds of international buyers attending the annual kids programming event which is a kickoff to the main MIPCOM market. The high profile marketing move by the partnership is intended to be the first of several planned for the future. John Foster, President of Odyssey Pictures stated, “The alliance with Foothill has shown steady and impressive growth since its inception and is a key element in our expansion into the children’s market.”
