For A&E Network‘s original movie Wedding Wars, which puts a comedic twist on one of America‘s most controversial issues - gay marriage, FlickerLab, the New York-based development, design and animation studio, created a promotional package, teasers, title cards, end pages, and lower thirds. The promotion package will air on A&E, USA, TBS, Bravo, FX and TNT, and the teases on A&E. Wedding Wars will air on A&E Monday, December 11th, 2006, 9ET/8C.

Not all is fair in love and war. In Wedding Wars, love, family, politics and marriage rights collide when Shel (John Stamos/ ER and Full House), a gay party planner, agrees to organize the nuptials for his straight brother Ben (Eric Dane/X-Men: The Last Stand, Grey's Anatomy) to Maggie (Bonnie Somerville/The O.C., Grosse Pointe), the Governor of Maine's (James Brolin/The Reagans, Traffic, Catch Me if You Can) daughter. After Shel finds out that Ben, a campaign manager for his future father-in-law, is behind the governor's speech against gay marriage, he decides to go on strike for equal rights. The strike picks up steam and eventually spreads nationwide, leaving the impending wedding vows in the hands of a tacky planner and the marriage in question.

FlickerLab‘s Managing Partner/Creative Director Harold Moss, explained “For the promos A&E wanted the titles to have a movie trailer look to give the promotional campaign a dramatic yet playful feel. The series of titles and the teases on the other hand are all text using animation to build buzz without giving away much of the movie in advance.”

A&E Senior Producer of On-Air Promotions, Degan Snyder said she was extremely pleased with the graphics package created by FlickerLab. “They are great listeners,” she said. “They understand what you are asking for, and they always cook up something that is even better than what you had envisioned. They are extremely fast, collaborative, and just really nice people to work with. That combination is hard to find in this business.”

The FlickerLab team included Creative Director/ Animation Director Harold Moss; Executive Producer Karen Stewart; Producer Franklin Zitter; Designers Harold Moss, Zartosht Soltani and Max Porter; 2D Animator Nikolay Nachev; and After Effects Artists Tonya Smay and Andrew Mastrocinque.

FlickerLab utilized Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver, Panic Transmit, PowerMac G5 computers, iMac Intel computers, Dell Ultrasharp 24” widescreen displays, and Wacom Intuos 3 tablets in the execution of this project.

Representing A&E were Vice President On-Air Promotions Valerie Albanese, Senior Producer On-Air Promotions Degan Snyder and Manager On-Air Scheduling Michael Carpio. Degan Snyder was responsible for the editorial. The hit song “Free” by Ultra Nate was the theme music used in the teases and trailers for this campaign.

Both the sound design and final post audio were provided by James Twomey of Mixopolous (New York, NY).

NextRadioTV Deploys Extensive MediorNet Routing Solution From Riedel Communications
