VideoViews uses AI to deploy direct Deep Metadata Labelling and Creation of Video Content; Cloud based Automation of Video Discovery, Curation and Editing

FOR RELEASE ON: TUESDAY, MAY, 26, 2020

MONTREAL –envision.ai, a leading provider of visual artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, today announced that it has introduced the first version of VideoViews, a cloud-based product which enables video professionals to conduct automatic discovery of topics and information in video content. VideoViews uses patented technologies in areas such as speech detection, facial tracking and video scene understanding to explore topics within video and enables automatic curation and editing of video.

The VideoViews product, which will initially be available as a private beta release, is part of a new generation of AI research that employs dense multimodal labelling (video, face, object, audio, text, etc.) to deliver greater intelligence regarding things such as sound classification (an animal sound or a human voice or a natural sound, such as a rain), face poise (where a person’s gaze is directed), emotion inference (the emotional state of a character at each frame), action detection, and object tracking.

envision.ai will host a webinar, ‘AI for Video: Scaling Deep Learning for the Multichannel Universe,’ on Wednesday, May 27th, at 2:30 pm EST, to discuss and demonstrate VideoViews. Register at: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_bYI7C0ypRyuOxOTol0o_PA

“The automatic creation of intelligent images and videos constitutes a paradigm shift in the curation, discovery and editing of visual content,” said Thomas Jelonek, founder and CEO of envision.ai. “VideoViews is the industry’s only AI solution built for scale in the video market; allowing remote editing for producers to easily work and deploy across channels rapidly. All accessible via an elegant web browser interface in a user-friendly cloud environment.”

VideoViews™ provides a simple framework for professionals to select components for logical audiovisual expressions. Using envision.ai’s patented technology in the domains of psychophysics and computer vision, VideoViews will also enable – in a forthcoming feature release – producers and editors to find video frames where characters look their best and find shots and tracks that have the highest predicted engagement.

VideoViews’ launch comes at a timely moment, in the post-COVID-19 period, where producers face substantial rise of production costs, up to 20%, and where remote working is necessary. VideoViews offers a fully scalable, cloud-based solution that integrates perfectly with any production environment, providing a user-friendly video content discovery, curation and editing, at a fraction of the cost of traditional video editing software.

VideoViews is the latest product from envision.ai, whose BestPix, BestClip, and BestTag products have been successfully used to determine rankings of highest predicted social media engagement for photos and videos. The BestTag.ai  experience, in combination with BestPix and BestClip,  has led to the development of tools that will help advertisers, film and television producers, and influencers with generation of optimal clips, scenes, and topics for distribution and placement to boost engagement and reach by 100% to 400%.

“Now with VideoViews we are building AI for video platform that is essentially like defining and building “Lego” blocks for video professionals,” said Jelonek. There are so many instances where directors want specific moments, such as ‘find scenes where Ray Donovan is angry’, and this kind of automation is enabling an on-demand curation of specific occurrences in raw video content.”

VideoViews can also, for example, generate automatic trailers and can automatically anonymize and redact video. Multiple trailer edits can be created, for example, to meet expected formats and contents for various social media platforms using logline-type templates. Engagement can be measured to determine which edit works best. VideoViews can also assist with compliance and privacy issues with single-click redaction and masking of people, objects, words, or speech.
