Los Angeles, CA – Electric Picture Solutions (EPS) and AEG Digital Media have joined forces to provide encoding and distribution of content across television, broadband and mobile platforms. With this partnership, EPS becomes a reseller of AEG Digital Media’s encoding, transcoding and distribution services. Now, when an EPS client completes postproduction, they can easily hold a red carpet premiere that is simulcast over the Internet and on mobile platforms with AEG Digital Media handling the broadcast. Clients also can utilize EPS and AEG Digital Media as a one-stop shop to re-purpose their libraries of content, movies and television shows for broadband and mobile archiving and distribution.

The partnership follows closely on the heels of industry veteran Charlie Mitchell joining EPS as VP of Sales. “This is exactly what I envisioned for EPS – finding the appropriate partners that benefit our clients, Mitchell says. “We have always been seen as the premier brand when it comes to providing editorial solutions for our clients, and when we look for a partner, we want to make sure that we find the premier partner. With AEG Digital Media, we found that.

With facilities in Studio City, Santa Monica, Baton Rouge and affiliates in New York City and London, EPS has been a premier provider of editorial solutions to the motion picture and television industry for 16 years. AEG Digital Media is a multi-platform and multimedia production division of Anschutz Entertainment Group, one of the leading providers of live entertainment and sports. Founded in 2009, AEG Digital Media creates, produces and distributes content across television, mobile and broadband platforms, focusing on music, sports, reality and special event programming throughout the world. It’s state-of-the-art, $25 million technical operations center and production studio overlook the recently opened L.A. Live, a $2.5 billion, four-million-square-foot sports, residential and entertainment district developed and operated by AEG adjacent to Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

“In our space, we are absolutely unique – we are now more of a full-service provider to our customers, providing services that our competitors cannotâ€? says Mitchell. “Previously, in many cases once a project was finished editing, our relationship with a client was pretty much complete until the next project. Our relationship with AEG Digital Media allows us to extend our relationship throughout the content creation and distribution ecosystem. We now can work with our clients to help them digitizing and monetizing content in a way they didn’t have before. It takes us from just working with the feature-film or television postproduction side, into the marketing/distribution and digital media side, as well — increasing our reach within the client base.â€?

For AEG Digital Media, the partnership brings a new client base and allows them to branch into new business territory, the re-purposing and distribution of existing content. “We are excited to partner with EPS and extend our world-class services to their outstanding client base. Both companies were pioneers in the digital media industry and this partnership now brings together well-known and well-respected brands to serve an ever-growing audience, said John Petrocelli, VP of Business Development and Sales for AEG Digital Media.

EPS was established in 1994 and its founders are pioneers in Avid, Lightworks and Final Cut Pro rentals.
