Hollywood, CA, October 5, 2006 - David Naylor and his company The DVD Group, Hollywood‘s premiere producer of featurettes, documentaries and other bonus features for mainstream feature films and television series released on DVD, are the winners of three major 2006 “TV DVD Awards.” The awards were presented on October 4th in Los Angeles, during Home Media Retailing‘s Third Annual DVD Awards Gala, held in conjunction with HMR‘s DVD Conference.

Mr. Naylor and The DVD Group won awards for “Best 2000‘s TV Show -- Lost, Season 1,” “Best 1980‘s TV Show -- Remington Steele, Seasons 4 & 5,” and for “Best Bonus DVD Features -- Lost, Season 1.” The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, with Charlene Tilton serving as host. The event was co-sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter, DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, and the Entertainment Merchants Association.


Based in Hollywood and helmed by David Naylor, The DVD Group is a multi-award winning DVD Added Value production company whose clients include most of the major motion picture studios. The DVD Group has provided original DVD content to many other major feature film and television series DVD releases. On the film to DVD front, the company has worked on the soon to be released “Mission Impossible 3,” as well as “Dr. Strangelove,” “The Hustler,” “Lord of War,” “On Golden Pond,” “On the Waterfront,” “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” “Tora! Tora! Tora!” “The Upside of Anger,” “The Verdict,” and “Willard,” to name some.

Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance (IDEA) to Create Specifications for Next-Gen Immersive Media, Including Light Field Technology

The Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance (IDEA) will launch at the 2019 NAB Show with the goal of creating a suite of royalty-free specifications that address all immersive media formats, including emerging light field technology. Founding members, including CableLabs®, Light Field Lab Inc, Otoy, and Visby, created IDEA to serve as an alliance of like-minded technology, infrastructure, and creative innovators working to facilitate the development of an end-to-end ecosystem for the capture, distribution, and display of immersive media.


NextRadioTV Deploys Extensive MediorNet Routing Solution From Riedel Communications

NextRadioTV has deployed a large-scale MediorNet real-time signal network from Riedel Communications to serve as the backbone for the broadcaster's brand-new audiovisual infrastructure. The 204-node MediorNet system has been installed in the new NextRadioTV facilities on the Paris campus of the Altice Group, which acquired NextRadioTV in 2016, to support signal distribution, routing, and processing over a single decentralized real-time network.
