Colorist Shane Reed helps fine-tune Cee Lo Green's tale of rejection and revenge
Los Angeles, CA - Award-winning post production house
completed work on the music video for artist Cee Lo Green's profane and catchy debut single, "
," from his solo album, Lady Killer. Initially a viral sensation, the song became one of the biggest hits of the year thanks to its groovy Motown-style production and Green's impeccable vocals. The song was even covered by no less than Gwyneth Paltrow on an episode of the hit TV show "Glee." The song's massive popularity prompted Green to cut an official video for the single last August. Shot on a RED Camera and graded on a DaVinci 2K, the video tells the story of a young Cee Lo Green experiencing romantic rejection as a young boy through his college years until he exacts revenge as an adult.

"The producer, director and the director of photography were all present for the session and had definitive ideas on what they wanted," said Company 3 Colorist Shane Reed who performed color grading for the video. "They wanted a kind of smokey, vintage look for the scenes of Cee Lo as a kid and in the adult scenes the colors were very saturated and neon-like." "Everyone was on the same page, creatively, making for a very smooth session," commented Reed. "As we were laying the video off we all knew we had something really special." The song has since received four
nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Urban Alternative Performance and Best Short Form Music Video.
