To help get the mega-selling Live Your Voice tour into full gear, John Broderick, production/lighting designer for Curb chart-topper Tim McGraw, relies upon Coemar’s ever-dependable CycLite LED lights. Broderick, media/stage show/event 30-year veteran, says that for this Premier Global-contracted tour, showing McGraw to the audience in the best way possible meant taking the visual off-center, making it asymmetrical and causing everything to go to a vanishing point so as to force perspective stage left. “Coemar CycLite LEDs have an efficiency about them, states Broderick. “Part of doing a design in an amphitheater on a three-act bill is that the lighting must be efficient and fast, and at the same time, big and powerful. He claims that the CycLite LEDs fit into the look he wanted, in that they can walk up and/or follow McGraw, and produce the ripple and wave effects that such a set of performances demands. Coemar CycLites, flicker-free and sourced with 96 high performance 1.2W LEDs, offer an adjustable light intensity with a selection of dimming curves. The lights come complete with a synchronized or random strobe effect and infinite colors generated by convergent RGB and White 6500K. Comprised of two cells individually controllable of 48 LEDs each, they afford a variety of beam angles via linear adjustment with digital positioning control. Broderick, along with lighting director Jerome Thomson and lighting programmer Troy Eckerman, are working within the context of eight transparent Barco Mitrix columns for LED video. “We can make the screens appear or disappear as we like, explains Broderick. “They’re notched (staggered) a foot below one another. He says he and team let the image ride and don’t compensate. “The Coemars are on the floor and the screens are vertical. The CycLite LEDs help because we can mix the LEDs to supplement the imagery. I can complete a picture across the floor and up on the screen. Broderick and team truly believe in the Coemar CycLite LEDs’ quality and reliability. “They’re easy to install, and have allowed us to get the brightness we’ve wanted. And the great people at Inner Circle kept in constant contact with me and were really helpful, which gave me more confidence in using the lights.
