Cinital Unveils Pioneering Virtual Studio Solution: Previzion at NAB New York Content Creation+

Dynamic End-to-End System Delivers Truly Affordable Camera Motion Tracking and Scene Integration Technology to Small Video Production Groups and Independent Filmmakers for Rapid Previsualization or Visual Effects Creation

Cinital LLC, (

) an emerging developer of affordable, powerful and easy-to-use virtual studio systems, invites members of the press attending NAB New York Content Creation+ from October 24 through October 25, 2006, to stop by booth #125 when it previews demonstrations of its new Previzion(TM) HD Studio virtual studio solution.

Based in Cambridge, Mass., the development team at Cinital has spent the past three years developing technology for Previzion. At NAB New York, Cinital will unveil the newest version of the highly anticipated solution, scheduled to ship on the Windows XP platform in November.

The Technology Behind Previzion

Previzion is a unique end-to-end virtual studio solution that offers affordable, advanced camera motion tracking and scene integration technology for rapid previsualization or visual effects creation. Based on an integrated real-time 2D/3D graphics engine, Previzion incorporates all the components of the visual effects

pipeline - camera tracking, video I/O, keying, 3D rendering, compositing and color correction - to accurately match live action foregrounds and computer generated backgrounds.

"The problem facing smaller production groups today is that existing virtual studio systems are expensive, difficult to integrate and use, routinely require a costly and permanent studio installation, and need dedicated technical staff to keep everything working smoothly," said Eliot Mack, founder of Cinital. "Previzion catapults

virtual production into the realm of affordability and frees digital artists to focus on the creative work rather than scouting locations, applying for permits or worrying about background lighting. The end result is a virtual production tool that provides an unprecedented level of precision, control, ease of use and creative freedom - at a radically affordable price point.

"We look forward to the opportunity of presenting this newest iteration of Previzion to the professional production and post-production community attending NAB New York, who we think will be eager to learn more about the substantive creative opportunities afforded by our technology."

Previzion relies on advanced 2D, 3D, and motion tracking technology to provide small video production groups and independent filmmakers involved with virtual backgrounds a sophisticated VFX production tool that does not require specialized technical knowledge in keying, match moving or compositing. It provides incredible creative freedom as camera motion can be tracked over a wide area, and data can be easily recorded and imported into leading 3D applications.

The camera tracking system is portable, self-calibrating, connects to most standard HD cameras using the included location and zoom sensors, and is capable of tracking a wide range of dramatic moves, including dolly, crane, and handheld shots. For use in previsualization, Previzion can record the motion of the camera to a separate file, for later use in a variety of post production environments.
