Los Angeles, CA, June 2, 2008 – Cinevative was recently awarded a Telly Award in the 29th annual competition for its work on the Italian Trade Commission’s promotion at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. Their recognized submission was a two and a half minute promo that showed on screens throughout the plaza during the 25-day promotion “Italy at South Coast Plaza. The event was open to the public and included exhibits celebrating Italian fashion, textiles, culture and art. Housing more than 30 Italian designer boutiques, and four major departments stores that carry ‘Made-In-Italy’ products, the event brought the charm of Italy to Orange County and gave visitors a unique Italian experience. “The mini-movie, ‘A Dream of Italy,’ was the centerpiece of South Coast Plaza’s October 2007 promotion, said Executive Director of Tourism Marketing for South Coast Plaza, Werner Escher. “Through the creative work of director, Mark Ciglar, and Cinevative, the daily viewing in the Plaza’s Jewel Court made a lasting impression on the thousands who attended the promotion, as well as the hundreds of thousands of additional viewers who saw the spot in 184 hotels on the Explorer Channel, he added. The film followed a couple as they traveled through a mostly computer generated world of iconic Italian settings and time periods. The film used a cast of over 50 actors in elaborate period costumes to show a variety of Italian persona, including everything from Ancient Roman gladiators to contemporary runway models. Director, Mark Ciglar explained, “We really wanted to go beyond a travelogue into something that was much more about the spirit of the country. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.
