Hoff Joins Cinedeck Management Team as Company Prepares to Escalate Development of Award-Winning, Ultra-Portable Recording, Monitoring and Playback Device
NEW YORK, NY (May 24, 2010)
— Cinedeck LLC (
) today announced it has tapped post production industry veteran, Alan Hoff, to join its executive management team as vice president of product management as the Company prepares for new growth and widespread adoption of its recently launched ultra-portable Cinedeck/Extreme recording, monitoring and playback device. This announcement comes on the heels of Cinedeck’s highly successful debut at NAB 2010, where the Company swept the coveted NAB 2010 Best of Show Awards by winning both the “2010 TV Technology STAR Award and the “2010 Vidy Award.
A seasoned executive with more than 14 years of experience in the video development industry, Hoff led product marketing and management as a director at Avid Technology, Inc., where he drove product and business strategy for the company’s Oscar award-winning post-production product family. During his tenure at Avid, Hoff oversaw the pivotal transition of the Avid editorial and finishing product lines from SD to HD, and played a key role in the launch of the Company’s ubiquitous DNxHD mastering quality codec.
“Alan joins Cinedeck at a very exciting time for our fledgling company. We’re on an extremely accelerated market expansion path, as the company has quickly moved from public debut to sweeping industry awards at NAB 2010 – and all of this happening in the span of a few short months,â€? said Matthew Bannister, CEO and co-founder of Cinedeck. “We’ve said from the beginning that we’re a group of filmmakers and cinematographers who have created something that fills an important gap in the market. With Alan joining our executive team, we are now well poised, with a focused, experienced management team, to take advantage of the global market opportunities in front of us.â€?
“It’s very rare to have the opportunity to bring something entirely new and extremely innovative to the marketplace, added Alan Hoff, Cinedeck’s newly appointed vice president of product management. “I’ve been fortunate to have participated in watershed product launches that have had lasting, meaningful impact on our industry. With Cinedeck, I look forward to tapping into those experiences to help elevate what I believe is another watershed solution. Cinedeck/Extreme will usher in a new era of production, and I’m very excited to be a part of it!
Prior to Avid, Hoff held product management and evangelist positions at Intergraph Computer Systems and Media 100, Inc. Hoff also served as the marketing director for Boston-based Web 2.0 Internet startup Adesso Systems, where he launched the company’s first consumer product, Tubes. After graduating with a B.S. in corporate communications at Ithaca College and a M.Ed. in Technology from Boston University, Hoff started his career as a documentary filmmaker. Today, his productions remain featured in science and history museums, including the Smithsonian Institution.Â
