CBS College Sports Network Renews Commitment To Broadway Systems With Multi-Year Contract Extension

April 9, 2009 – Grand Rapids, Mich. – CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV College Sports Television) has signed a new multi-year contract to continue its relationship with Broadway Systems, which provides its innovative software platform to help the cable network manage multiple aspects of its advertising business. Broadway Systems has worked with the network to develop tools to help with some of the specific nuances of managing live college sports programming, including deeper program management for classifying program content and specialized master control interfaces.

The original CSTV installed Broadway’s Traffic and Billing module in 2003 to coincide with the network launch, and added the Sales Planning and Proposal module in 2006. CBS Corporation acquired CSTV in January 2006 and rebranded the network as CBS College Sports Network in March 2008. After the initial contract with CSTV ended, CBS decided to remain with Broadway through a multi-year contract extension.

“Over the past few months, CBS College Sports Network has been aggressively building its subscriber base, said John Sorensen, president of Broadway Systems. “The staff at CBS has worked with us in a cooperative partnership to grow the software in stride with their growing network. CBS certainly had other options for traffic, billing, and sales, but they chose to stay with Broadway. We appreciate the continued trust that CBS College Sports Network has placed in Broadway Systems to serve their advertisers.

CBS College Sports Network reaches more than 30 million subscribers and is available to 84 million households through cable, satellite, and other video service providers. The network is devoted exclusively to college athletics, and showcases more than 25 men’s and women’s college sports with regular-season and championship event coverage.

Editor’s Note:

Broadway Systems will showcase their latest multi-platform solutions at the 2009 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 20-23 (Booth N4117). New management tools integrate non-traditional ad campaigns, such as Internet advertising and video-on-demand, with traditional campaigns, so ratecards can feature a variety of creative types and proposals can be linked together as a combined buy.
