BRICKYARD VFX EXPANDS BICOASTAL PRODUCTION TEAM

Brickyard VFX Pacific Hires Cara Farnsworth as Producer and Brickyard Atlantic in Boston Names Amy Appleton Production Coordinator

Brickyard VFX, a bi-coastal artist owned-and-operated visual effects boutique, has announced the addition of Producer Cara Farnsworth and Production Coordinator Amy Appleton to its team.

Cara Farnsworth brings over eight years of experience in feature film, commercial, music video and television episodic effects production to Brickyard VFX Pacific, based in Santa Monica, CA. Most recently, she was a commercial and features producer for Asylum VFX, producing effects for such high-profile projects as Walt Disney‘s

Pirates of the Caribbean 3

, Touchstone Pictures‘

Déjà Vu

, and the Mel Gibson-helmed

Apocalypto

, as well as spots for PlayStation, Lexus, Visa and Nintendo. Farnsworth began her career as a production coordinator for several Chicago-based post houses including Mr. Big, Eight Ball and Post Effects. She originally hails from Chicago, and holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Chicago and completed her graduate studies in Mixed Media at the University of Sydney in Australia. Farnsworth will produce 2D and 3D commercial and feature VFX projects at Brickyard VFX Pacific.

“I had heard numerous rave reviews from artists to agency producers about Brickyard’s impeccable reputation for quality,” Farnsworth said. “When I walked through the door, I just got a great vibe. I‘m very excited to join the crew at Brickyard.”

Amy Appleton joins Brickyard VFX Atlantic in Boston as Production Coordinator. She has experience in both interactive and video production, but found her niche in broadcast work. Before coming to Brickyard, she had post produced multiple national spots, as well as large-scale viral marketing campaigns. Amy is originally from Maine, and holds a master’s degree from Emerson College.

“The addition of Cara and Amy is a reflection of the rapid growth of our busy CG division and overall increase in commercial visual effects projects. We‘re really excited to have found individuals that are not only extremely qualified professionally–but also down-to-earth personalities that make them such a perfect fit for the Brickyard VFX family,” said Brickyard VFX co-owner Steve Michaels.
