Van Nuys, CA (March 9, 2010) – Hollywood’s comedic elite were on hand as Funny or Die (
) brought Jim Carrey as Ronald Reagan, Will Ferrell as George W. Bush, Dan Aykroyd as Jimmy Carter, Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford, Dana Carvey as George H. W. Bush and Darrell Hammond as Bill Clinton together for a hilarious segment directed by Ron Howard and shot at Avenue Six Studios.
In Funny or Die’s Presidential Reunion, Barack Obama gets a surprise visit in the night from ex-Presidents Bush Sr., Bush Jr., Clinton, Ford, Reagan and Carter to get a few pointers about the Consumer Financial Protection Agency and why it’s so important. Directed by Howard with Funny or Die Director Jake Szymanski, the skit was written by Adam McKay and Al Jean.
Produced by Mike Farah for Funny or Die, the spoof pulls together an amazing collection of comedy’s royalty. Even the CURRENT President was fair game as other performers included Barack Obama, who was played by Fred Armisen and Michelle Obama, who was was played by Maya Rudolph.
Mr. Mike Farah, Producer and Ambassador of Lifestyle at Funny or Die noted, “We came back to Avenue Six Studios because just like our last experience there, the great staff allowed us to get a very ambitious shoot done all in one location. The entire crew was great to work with — again!â€?
Farah chose the Avenue Six Studio Stages in part because a newly added soundstage and green screen expansion makes Avenue Six even more versatile than ever. As Hollywood’s hottest new film and television facility Avenue Six Studios (
) continues to be a sought after location for Los Angeles based production companies. The New Avenue Six Studio Complex offers one of the industry’s most comfortable, immaculate and amazing shooting environments. Located minutes from Burbank, Hollywood and entertainment giants such as Warner Bros., Raleigh Studios, Universal and Disney, Avenue Six is expertly equipped. The $ Multimillion facility includes three stages for all types of production. It also boasts several thousand square feet of office and other behind-the-scenes space.
The stages have continuously been booked at a hectic pace. Pat Boone’s recent PBS special was shot at the Avenue Six stages, as was Andrea Ambandos’ Dragonfly Productions recently completed TURBO FIRE fitness video starring Chalean for Beachbody. Bully Pictures also recently wrapped their latest commercial spot at Avenue Six Studios. Producer Gary Kout alongside Production Supervisor Theresa Martinsons oversaw the Nissin Noodles shoot. The spot stars legendary film and television actor James Hong. On the advertising side, Director Leon Melas and Square One Entertainment have created magic in the kitchen for their latest Shamwow product, Slap Chop. Shamwow’s notorious frontman utilized Ave Six Studios’ east stage “Kitchen set” to create the proper mood for the company’s new infomercial.
