In this video from ProAV, Alister Chapman details what color gamut is.

“The word gamut means essentially ‘everything’ or ‘all of.’ So the gamut of a camera is everything that the camera can see or everything that the camera can capture,” he says. “If you’re talking about a recording format or a recording standard, the gamut is everything that’s in there. So it’s both color and contrast and brightness range.”
