Siggraph 2006 marks the company‘s exhibition debut on the East Coast.


Demand for wondertouch particleIllusion 3.0 from digital media content professionals working in film post-production and pre-visualization, commercial broadcast, game cinematics, standard and HD video, and Web graphics, and interest from premier educational institutions, continues to expand. Here are a few select highlights from the past six months:

Full Sail

In January, particleIllusion was adopted into the curriculum at Full Sail, considered one of the premiere schools in the U.S. for preparing students for careers in the entertainment media industry. particleIllusion is now a part of Full Sail‘s new Digital Arts & Design Bachelor of Science degree program.


Game Center at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles

Also in January, wondertouch joined on as a partner in the new Game Center at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles. particleIllusion - now used by professionals in all stages of the game development cycle including prototyping and designing effects that will be recreated in the game engine; generating textures for the game; adding effects to cinematic sequences; even in creating commercials for the finished game product - will be featured at the Game Center alongside other industry leading game development applications. Pro Emitters for particleIllusion 3.0

In February, wondertouch introduced the new Professional Emitters (Pro Emitters) collection for particleIllusion 3.0. The collection features 180 particleIllusion 3.0 emitters arranged into six themed libraries. The Pro Emitters were developed by three digital artists - Tom Granberg, Sasha Milica and Phalkunabba Rath - who exhibit outstanding command of the particleIllusion software application, distinctive creative styles and superior aptitude in creating intricate particle-based effects intended to embellish the 'palette' of effects choices for professional particleIllusion artists. particleIllusion 3.0 for Mac OS X released in June 2005 continues to gain popularity with Mac enthusiasts, while trade magazine reviewers continue to garner the software with positive accolades, including an Editor‘s Choice award recommendation in the June 2006 issue of MacAddict,



At Siggraph, professionals active in the particleIllusion software community will host product demonstrations in the wondertouch booth to provide attendees with how-to‘s and tips that highlight ways to maximize the use of particleIllusion products in the creation of spectacular visual experiences. particleIllusion 3.0, the latest version of the software, currently available on the Windows and Mac OS X platforms, is wondertouch‘s cornerstone sprite-based particle effects software application. Cited for its power, speed and ease-of-use, the product continues to enjoy use by professionals around the world. Recent high profile entertainment projects include the theatrical film, “Superman Returns,” the HBO documentary, “Too Hot Not to Handle: A Global Warming Primer,” and the upcoming documentary, “Egyptian Book of the Dead,” scheduled to air on the History Channel this Fall.

Professional Emitters for particleIllusion 3.0

The Pro Emitters for particleIllusion 3.0 is a collection of six individual libraries that feature sophisticated, complex and ready-to-use particle effects covering popular themes including real-world effects such as explosions, auroras, and breaking glass; motion graphics and artistic backgrounds; text and abstract effects.

• Demo artists extraordinaire: Aharon Rabinowitz and Elvis Dean wondertouch will be joined in the booth by two preeminent particleIllusion animators - Aharon Rabinowitz and Elvis Deane - who will demonstrate particleIllusion throughout the show. Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance (IDEA) to Create Specifications for Next-Gen Immersive Media, Including Light Field Technology

The Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance (IDEA) will launch at the 2019 NAB Show with the goal of creating a suite of royalty-free specifications that address all immersive media formats, including emerging light field technology. Founding members, including CableLabs®, Light Field Lab Inc, Otoy, and Visby, created IDEA to serve as an alliance of like-minded technology, infrastructure, and creative innovators working to facilitate the development of an end-to-end ecosystem for the capture, distribution, and display of immersive media.


NextRadioTV Deploys Extensive MediorNet Routing Solution From Riedel Communications

NextRadioTV has deployed a large-scale MediorNet real-time signal network from Riedel Communications to serve as the backbone for the broadcaster's brand-new audiovisual infrastructure. The 204-node MediorNet system has been installed in the new NextRadioTV facilities on the Paris campus of the Altice Group, which acquired NextRadioTV in 2016, to support signal distribution, routing, and processing over a single decentralized real-time network.
