The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders and Supervising Sound Mixers, SonicPool.
SonicPool, currently celebrating its Five Year anniversary, has recently completed the following seven independent feature film projects:
** “Most High:” Set for release Nov. 28th, and directed by Marty Sader, this dramatic indie is set against the backdrop of crystal meth abuse, and stars Sader and Laura Keys. SonicPool provided sound design and mixing services. The client was Sader and Keys and their company 2nd Act Films.
** “Lonely Street:” For this comedy/mystery/thriller, SonicPool is providing the pre production facilities. “Lonely Street” stars Robert Patrick, Joe Mantegna, Nikki Cox, Paul Rodriguez and Jay Mohr. The film tells the story of a private detective who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a tabloid reporter, after being hired to snoop on him by a mysterious celebrity. The client for this project was Patrick Newall, Chris Brinker, and Coni Fry of Lonely Street Productions.
** “Watching the Detectives:” SonicPool is currently providing offline facilities for this romantic comedy feature, starring Lucy Liu and Cillian Murphy. The film‘s writer-director is Paul Soter, who is part of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe that has created such comedies as “Super Troopers,” and “Beerfest.” “Watching the Detectives” recently completed production in New York. The client for this project was Celine Rattay and Daneila Taplin Lundberg for Watching the Detectives, LLC.
** “Teenius:” Starring John Delancey (“Star Trek,”) this film from Teenius Productions utilized SonicPool‘s offline and mixing services. The client was Cassidy Lunnen-Katz, Michael J. Katz and Mya Stark of Teenius Productions, LLC.
** “Local Color:” Ray Liotta, Diana Scarwid and Charles Durning star in this drama, for which SonicPool provided the mix. The film centers around a successful artist who looks back with loving memories on the summer of his defining year, 1974. The client was James Evangelatos and George Gallo of Local Color, LLC.
“Local Color‘s” director, George Gallo, is also noted as the screenwriter of the hit films “Wise Guys,” “Midnight Run,” and the smash hits “Bad Boys” and “Bad Boys II,” starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
** “On the Doll:” SonicPool provided offline and HD online services for this dramatic film, starring Eddie Jemison (“Ocean‘s 11,”) Paul Ben-Victor and Brittany Snow. The client was Thomas Mignone of Doom, Inc.
** “Isolated:” This horror/thriller indie utilized SonicPool for online services. The films, directed by Eric Nichols, tells the story of a getaway gone bad, where the perpetrators and their hostages find themselves mysteriously trapped on a deserted highway. The client was Eric Nichols and Gerold Moon of Isolated, LLC.
