December 21, 2006 - The ninth annual Red Bull Music Academy took place in Melbourne, Australia from October 13th to 27th. Music enthusiasts from all over the world were offered the opportunity to prove their talent and learn from the best artists in the world. International artists passed their experience and knowledge to young artists through numerous workshops, studio sessions and performances in the clubs of Melbourne. Only optimal equipment ensures an ultimate sound experience in this environment. Therefore, the organizer of the Red Bull Music Academy this year again relied on AKG WMS 40 wireless microphone systems, C 414 recording microphones and K 171 headphones.

Jeff Mills, one of the greatest Techno-DJs and producers around, opened for the first Red Bull Music Academy in 1998 in Berlin. Ever since, pioneers and new talents from the music scene meet every year to expand their stylistic horizons and exchange musical experiences. The participation at the Red Bull Music Academy is a great distinction in itself: this year 2500 musicians from 79 countries applied for 60 seats in Melbourne (

“The idea of the Red Bull Music Academy is fantastic. A large variety of music enthusiasts can be found here, anything from a DJ or producer to a singer or audio engineer. Our products excel at a place like this because of the excellence and passion the artists require from not only themselves, but their equipment,“ said Walter Rührig, Product Manager at AKG.
