Easy Digital Cinema Mastering on the Windows® Platform IBC 2011, Hall 7 - booth 7.F45

Amsterdam: Sept. 1, 2011… Qube Cinema, a world leader in digital cinema technologies, will introduce QubeMaster Xpress 2 at IBC in Amsterdam, Sept. 9-13. With QubeMaster Xpress 2 users can master DCI-compliant Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) on Windows-based machines quickly and easily. As a result, cost-effective digital cinema is now available to a wider circle of filmmakers, postproduction facilities and pre-show content creators. QubeMaster Xpress 2 offers users an attractive, uncluttered graphical interface whereby DCP mastering is completed in three simple steps. First the source material is collected. In the second step the aspect ratio is set, including cropping and resizing. This can be helpful, for example, for matching up content from different sources with differing dimensions and resolutions. Finally the user selects output settings for the DCP. QubeMaster Xpress 2 then renders the material, using the same powerful transcoding engine as QubeMaster Pro, Qube Cinema's full-featured digital cinema application. "The first edition of QubeMaster Xpress was designed for pre-show content creators who didn't need the horsepower of QubeMaster Pro," explained Nigel Dennis, head of sales and marketing for Qube Cinema in Europe. "Of course, as more and more theatres and film festivals are standardizing on the digital cinema format, other users, such as independent filmmakers and post houses, have been coming on board." "With the simple drag-and-drop interface of QubeMaster Xpress 2, anyone can master DCPs," said Dennis.

New with QubeMaster Xpress 2:

- Re-engineered transcoding algorithms (based on the QubeMaster Pro engine) - Multi-threading and CPU-optimized for enhanced performance - Modular design allows users to select capabilities, or add-on capabilities later - Available stereo 3D module - Available 4K module

Supported formats include:

- JPEG, TIFF, TGA and BMP still images - AVI, Quicktime (MOV), Windows Media videos and Flash animations QubeMaster Xpress 2 requires a laptop or workstation with a dual-core, or multi-core processor and Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP. QubeMaster Xpress 2 is the most recent addition to the QubeMaster digital cinema software family, including QubeMaster Pro and QubeMaster Pro Packager, as well as QubeMaster Xport, a plug-in for Apple Compressor 4.0 on the OS X platform. QubeMaster Xpress 2 retails for $999 USD for the 2K version. Stereo 3D and 4K modules can be added or combined for $999 USD per module.
