) today announced that Domenic Rom, who has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PostWorks' lab since its acquisition by PostWorks three years ago, has been appointed to the newly created position of SVP/General Manager of Post-Production Services for PostWorks' main New York facility in Soho. The announcement was made by PostWorks' President and COO Rob DeMartin, and is effective immediately. Rom is a 28-year New York City post-production veteran whose groundbreaking work with Unitel, Duart, Sekani and Moving Images - as well as his proactive membership with the Association of Cinema and Video Laboratories – has earned the respect of filmmakers worldwide. Under his direction, since its launch in 2002, The Lab has offered processing services to a great many high-profile film, television and commercial projects. Most pertinent to his new role at PostWorks was Rom's time at Duart from 1997 to 2002, where he served as Executive Vice President. Responsibilities under Rom's SVP/General Manager title at PostWorks include managing operational aspects in Soho related to telecine, color correction, online editorial, DI, digital media, duplication and fulfillment. "Over the past few years, PostWorks has expanded to become a bicoastal company, and we now operate six facilities, including our lab, our main Soho location, and our two new locations in LA," DeMartin said. "During this time, Domenic has provided excellent leadership. His knowledge of post-production finishing services is second-to-none, and having the ability to turn to him to manage our day-to-day New York post operations will be a great asset to our company and our clients." "The incredible growth that PostWorks has experienced in the past few years has impressed us all," said Rom. "While I look forward to continuing to run our lab, I am also very excited to get back to overseeing the entire spectrum of finishing services at a post facility. I'm honored to be working with the talented staff members at PostWorks New York in providing extraordinary, innovative support to each of our clients in all areas of post."
