Post Asylum Adds New Smoke Suite to Creative Arsenal

Publish date:

Dallas, TX – Post Asylum has announced the grand opening of their new Smoke Suite for finish and visual effects. Award winning commercial and feature film VFX veteran Michael “Pants” Sands will helm this latest addition to Post Asylum’s creative toolset. “We are very excited about moving Pants into the role of Senior Smoke Artist,” noted Post Asylum Executive Producer Graham Hagood. “He brings years of experience as an award winning VFX artist and a unique skill set that includes motion design, 3D animation and editorial. I don’t know of another Smoke Artist with Pants’ breadth of talent and expertise. In addition to the new Smoke 2013 software, we’ve incorporated all of Pants’ 3D animation and motion design tools to make this one very powerful suite.” The spacious new room features a Panasonic professional display, and was built from the ground up with the discerning agency creative in mind. “We meticulously designed this suite starting from the bare studs to not only be ideal for light, color correction and angle of view, but also to be stylish and comfortable,” said Sands. Before joining Post Asylum’s Motion Design/VFX Team in 2008, Sands held positions as an Editor, Motion Designer/Animator and VFX Supervisor for several studios, including Post Op, Showcase, Pony Productions, and Fresh Produce. After 9/11, Sands joined the U.S. Army Reserves, learned Arabic, served two tours in Iraq, earned his Jumpmaster certification and retired from the reserves as a Staff Sergeant in 2011. Sands recently completed visual effects work on a new TV campaign for York Air Conditioning, as well as finish and VFX for a series of “YES! Putter” spots for Adams Golf. Both campaigns are currently airing internationally in the US, Canada and the UK. Currently, Sands is taking full advantage of Post Asylum’s new Smoke Suite for finish and visual effects (including a mix of 3D and live action compositing) on a Dallas Cowboy themed Papa John’s spot featuring Jerry Jones. About Post Asylum Dallas based Post Asylum is actually three high-end creative boutiques under one roof.
