The Original iPhone Film Fest, the groundbreaking online contest showcasing iPhone filmmaking, has extended its submissions deadline to October 31st, 2011. In recognition of advertising’s massive talent base, the submission categories include a call for brand films and music videos.
Festival entries will be judged by a stellar panel of industry experts including the latest addition to the jury: WDCF Executive Creative Director Court Crandall. “It’s no longer about access in the entertainment industry,” notes Crandall. “It’s about ideas. Where you once needed an agent, studio and big name actor to get your film screened at the festival, now all you need is a brilliant premise and a phone in your pocket. That’s pretty damn exciting.” Other judges are rockstar members of Maroon 5, author/Creative Director Jimmy Siegel, BBDO’s Regina Ebel, Cutwater’s Chuck McBride, BAFTA Chief Executive Christina Thomas, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Lasse Hallstrom, technology guru & NY Times columnist David Pogue, Macworld Editorial Director Jason Snell, Oscar-winning doc director Cynthia Wade, Broadway producer David J. Foster and legendary cinematographer Caleb Deschanel. The Original iPhone Film Festival seeks original short films shot on any Apple IOS device ( iPhone™, iPodTouch™ or iPad2™) for consideration. Films can run up to three minutes – four and a half minutes for music videos – and submissions are free. To learn more and submit films please visit
