MultiDyne® Innovates At The 2015 CCW Show

Hauppauge, NY, November 11-12, 2015, CCW 2015 ShowMultiDyne® Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a leader in audio and video transport over fiber optic infrastructures, will demonstrate new features and functionality for its field-tested product line of camera-mounted, rack mountable and standalone audio and video signal transceivers, and show a new signal transport module for PTZ camera systems, at the Content & Communications World (CCW) expo, being held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. 

The new products and feature enhancements are all part of MultiDyne’s companywide “Fiber First” initiative that will spotlight a range of new and existing products in booth #806, that leverage the convenience and performance benefits of moving audio, video and communications signals over fiber-optic cable.

New! Gigabit Ethernet And Full bandwidth Analog/Sync For HD-3500

MultiDyne will show new features for its existing line of HD-3500 Series Multi-rate Serial Digital Video Fiber-Optic Transceivers, including Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) connectivity and new Sync functions that help users accurately synchronize multiple cameras, with multiple HD-3500 units, during a live or studio productions. Even with the new features, the new HD-3500GE is still compact, rugged and rack-mountable, like all of the MultiDyne HD-3500 Series products.

The first new feature of the HD-3500GE is Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), which can be leveraged to control pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) cameras from up to 3,000 meters (nearly 2 miles) over a single-mode fiber-optic cable. The new GigE option will also benefit streaming video applications and the fast transport of signals over a local area network (LAN). The second new optional feature on the HD-3500GE is Sync, which is ideal for genlocking multiple cameras and having them work in complete synchronization with each other. For those working with analog video, the new Sync option can also be used for Teleprompter.

New!! Universal SMPTE HUT

As the latest addition to its line of SMPTE-HUT universal transceivers, MultiDyne will show the innovative “Universal” HUT, which is half the size of a traditional HUT system and works with the vast majority of SMPTE high-definition and 4K cameras on the market today. Providing a number of ROI benefits, this new transceiver allows rental houses and users of different cameras to use the same MultiDyne HUT system for any project. Previously, users had to pick a dedicated MultiDyne system for the specific camera they were shooting with. And like all MultiDyne HUT systems, the new Universal Hut is used as a fiber adaptor power supply that effectively stretches a SMPTE camera chain for miles.

New!! More Juice And LANC Control for SilverBack

MultiDyne will show new features and functionality for its popular SilverBack™ fiber-optic system that expands the usability of the SilverBack-II with Juice over SMPTE Hybrid cable. Among the new features, which will be available in the Spring of 2016, are higher MultiDyne “Juice” power (increased from 56 to 300 volts) to move signals farther over standard SMPTE Hybrid cable and the useful ability to control a variety of cameras from suppliers like Canon and Sony using the Local Application Control (LANC) protocol to a control the camera with a wire connected to a LANC port on the SilverBack transceiver without touching the buttons on the camera itself.

New! PTZ Camera Signal Transport Module

MultiDyne has developed a new fiber-optic video signal transport module as an option for a wide variety of remotely controlled PTZ camera systems, from companies like Canon, Hitachi, Ikegami, Panasonic and Sony, used for security and television broadcast applications. The highly compact system includes a transmitter seamlessly integrated into the bottom of the camera housing and a MutliDyne HD-3500 receiver on the other end that converts the HD video signal coming from the PTZ camera head back to baseband SDI for high-quality image display. Once converted to optical, video signals from the PTZ camera head can travel over 3,000 meters (almost two miles) on a single fiber cable without image degradation. User can optionally power the entire system via hybrid cable as well.
