Huntsville, Alabama –PESA, a leading designer and manufacturer of streaming, routing, and AV integration products, will demonstrate its new C22 encoding/decoding cards along with its established PESA Xstream multi-channel streaming appliances at WFX 2015 (Booth 209), which runs Nov. 18-19 in Nashville. Based on the popular PESA Xstream C22 compact streaming device, two of the new cards are compliant with the openGear® standard for terminal equipment, while the other two cards are part of the new PESA Blade System (PBS), which is an integral part of the Cheetah Flex hybrid routing environment.

The PBS is housed in a 2 RU Ross openGear chassis, but managed by PESA’s Cattrax control software. It holds up to 10 H.264 encoding/decoding cards, which can support up to 20 streaming signals. The C22-PBS card supports RTSP and RTMP streams, while the C22‑PBS‑T supports MPEG transport streams.

Cheetah Flex, the cornerstone of PESA integrated routing platform, features a PBS installed directly into a Cheetah digital video router frame adjacent to traditional baseband routing hardware. The result is a seamless, customized solution for baseband and IP-based video and audio sources that is managed by PESA’s Cattrax control software.

openGear was developed by Ross Video as an industry standard for terminal equipment. PESA’s C22-OG card supports RTSP and RTMP streams, while the C22-OG-T supports MPEG transport streams. The new C22 cards join more than 300 openGear solutions from more than 50 vendors that support the open architecture platform. Cards are configured and controlled Dashboard, free control software that is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux-based systems.

All four C22 cards can be configured as a two-port video encoder, two-port decoder, or include one of each. Two external audio sources can be synchronized to either or both video streams during an event. Other features include an OLED display of the card’s IP address for easy configuration, as well as HDMI® I/O ports for encoding HDMI sources or local HDMI monitoring.

“Whether it’s live or on-demand, streaming video of weekly services is becoming more and more important to the worship community. These new C22 cards offer dual-channel encoding or decoding, so you can 20 bi-directional channels in a very small footprint,” explained John Naylor, PESA vice president of global sales and distribution, streaming. “Our PESA Xstream multi-channel streaming appliances work well in any production facility, but the C22 cards provide incredible processing power and work seamlessly in an openGear or PESA environment.”
