At the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in April, MTI Film, a world leading developer of tools used in digital film restoration, digital film mastering and digital dailies processing, will begin offering delivery of its ground-breaking new dailies deliverables product CONVEY for CONTROL Dailies. CONVEY, with its Auto-DVD module, represents a major advance in the processing of digital dailies by automating the creation of file-based deliverables—resulting in significant time savings for busy post production operations. MTI Film will be showcasing CONVEY, as well as its other products, in Booth SL3710. “CONVEY makes the process of producing dailies deliverables faster, easier and more secure, said MTI Film CEO Larry Chernoff. “CONVEY works seamlessly and concurrently with CONTROL Dailies, handling encoding for all deliverable formats as well as other routine tasks that formerly required the time of a technician and additional costly technology. More than a year in development, CONVEY is currently beta testing at FotoKem and at EFILM in Hollywood. Designed as a sister application to CONTROL Dailies, CONVEY shares CONTROL Dailies’ project management, database and scan-list parameters and applies that information toward the production of deliverables. As dailies are processed and approved in CONTROL Dailies, CONVEY encodes the data into the required deliverable formats. The product presented at NAB will feature an Auto-DVD module, and will also soon support most popular file-deliverable formats, including MPEG-2, Avid DNxHD, ProRes HD, Windows Media 9 and AVI. User defined bit rates, aspect ratios, window burns and audio mixes are applied automatically. Templates and configurations can be saved and recalled later, eliminating redundant input and set-up. Similarly, DVD menus can be created in CONVEY and recalled later as part of the process of automated DVD authoring. “A list of recipients can be defined at the project level as well as the media requirements for each, noted MTI Film Product Manager David McClure. “At the end of the process, DVDs are burned, each one watermarked with the recipient’s name. DVDs authored by CONVEY include such features as viewer selectable sort orders and chapter points for quickly navigating between takes. MTI Film LLC Since 1997, MTI Film has offered award winning software applications to the post-production industry for film and video image correction and dailies facilitation. MTI's applications support collaborative digital work-flows which scale to significantly increase throughput. This NAB, MTI Film unveils revolutionary advances to their products: Correct V7, Control Dailies 6, and Convey with AutoDVD.
