IBC News: Fortium Shows MediaSeal® New Security Anti-Ransomware Feature with Aspera

London –  Fortium Technologies will demonstrate its latest solutions for protecting motion picture and television content against theft, accidental distribution and ransomware in tandem with Aspera, an IBM company, at IBC 2017 this month in Amsterdam.

Fortium’s MediaSeal® encryption at-rest and on-the-fly protection will be demonstrated as an integratable feature of Aspera’s high-speed file transfer and collaboration platform. Included will be a new MediaSeal security feature that detects and blocks ransomware from encrypting content. The demonstration will show how MediaSeal keeps sensitive content secure across the entire production workflow and not just during transfer. It can be seen at IBC on the Aspera partner stand, 7.G20.

Files need never reside in unencrypted form on disk, in transit or post-delivery.”

MediaSeal's new ransomeware blocking feature is designed to automatically prevent unrecognized programs from attempting to access sensitive files or folders. MediaSeal is able to filter and control programs at file level so that unrecognized and spoofed programs can be detected and blocked, providing a crucial additional layer of security.
