Eliot Mack, founder of Cinital (TM) LLC,

www.cinital.com

, an emerging developer of next-generation visual effects, will be a featured guest speaker at the SMPTE/New England Chapter meeting taking place Monday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m., at the National Boston Video Center in Brookline, Mass.

Mack, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering from MIT, will discuss advances in virtual studio technology. He will also demonstrate the creative benefits of the company‘s new Previzion(TM) HD Studio - an affordable end-to-end solution that integrates the complete visual effects pipeline into one application, including advanced 3D camera tracking, live video I/O, keying, 3D background rendering, compositing and real-time color correction.

“A large segment of motion technology professionals served by SMPTE - particularly those working in smaller production groups - have traditionally been unable to access virtual studio systems as they are extremely expensive, difficult to integrate and use, routinely require a costly and permanent studio installation, and need dedicated technical staff to manage various operations,” says Mack. “As the leading technical society for the motion technology industry, I look forward to addressing members of SMPTE/New England‘s chapter about the motion tracking and camera motion advances built into our Previzion system, and think its affordability, exceptional level of precision and control, as well as its overall ease in integrating live action and CGI elements, will be of interest to those in attendance.”

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND PREVIZION:

Previzion is a unique end-to-end virtual studio solution that offers affordable, advanced camera motion tracking and scene integration technology for rapid previsualization or visual effects creation. Previzion defines a new category in virtual set systems and enables small video production groups and independent filmmakers to easily create stunning moving images without the need for specialized technical knowledge in keying, match moving or compositing.

Using the industry-standard FBX file format, camera motion data can be easily recorded and imported into leading 3D applications including Autodesk Maya and 3ds max, SOFTIMAGE|XSI, Luxology Modo, MAXON Cinema 4D, and others. The system also permits artists to incorporate visual effects techniques such as camera projection mapping and matte painting.
