Christie, a global leader in Digital Cinema, announced that Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN), Canada’s leading operator of movie theatres, has embarked on the largest Digital Cinema conversion in the country. The rollout will result in 25 theatres across Canada being equipped with Christie CP2000 DLP Cinema® projectors featuring REAL D 3D technology. Christie is providing installation support for the rollout in time for the latest Hollywood 3D releases. In addition to being the premier exhibitor of Digital Cinema in the country, Cineplex Entertainment will now have the largest number of digitally equipped movie theatres in Canada. These 25 locations, added to Cineplex’s 18 additional Digital Cinema locations, bring the total number of Christie Digital Cinema projectors installed in Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada to 43.
