Canon Senior Fellow Larry Thorpe to give special presentation on EOS Cameras; attendees will learn about and test drive the C500, C300, C100, and 1DC, and CINE lenses

, the leading supplier of pro video, photographic and consumer electronics products, is teaming up with Adorama Rental and Canon to co-host a special event around the Canon Cinema EOS cameras, including the brand new groundbreaking C500 series. Scheduled for Tuesday, November 13th, the event will feature a presentation on EOS cameras by Larry Thorpe, Senior Fellow of the Professional Engineering & Solutions Division of Canon USA, Inc. Thorpe, who has spent over 20 years leading the industry in HDTV development, will also speak about using CINE lenses and their compatibility with the cinema cameras.   The presentation will be followed with hands-on demos of the full Cinema product family, including the C500, C300, C100 and 1DC, CINE lenses (Primes and Zooms), and the Pro Camcorder lineup (XF/XA products). Attendees will have an opportunity to test drive Canon solutions and network with industry colleagues over food and drinks.

About Larry Thorpe

Larry Thorpe is a renowned expert in the field of video acquisition. A visionary who helped pioneer HD and digital production in the US broadcast and motion picture industry, Thorpe holds 10 patents in the field of broadcast development. He has also authored or co-authored a variety of papers on camera technology, HDTV imaging, and HD lenses and optics. As a result of his leadership, contributions, and achievements, Thorpe received the NAB 2000 Television Engineering Achievement Award, the Montreux 2000 Gold Medal Award for Digital Cinematography, and in 2004, the Broadcasting & Cable Technical Leadership Award. He is a Life Fellow of SMPTE. Thorpe is an IEE Graduate (1961) of the College of Technology in Dublin, Ireland and received his Chartered Engineer (C. Eng.) and MIEE distinction in 1965 from the Institute of Electrical Engineers in London, England.
