ABC Control Room Incorporates Advanced Ross Video Production Technology

Iroquois, ON, Canada - October 19, 2006 - Ross Video announced today ABC, Washington D.C. purchased a Synergy 4 MD-X Multi-Definition Production Switcher and OverDrive™ Production Control System. Installation of the systems is expected to be complete in early 2007.

The Synergy 4 MD-X Multi-Definition Production Switcher, combines 4 effects bank control panel with the MD-X live production engine, providing 4 full MLEs with up to 4 down stream keyers. Each MLE is equipped with 4 channels of Squeeze & Tease 3D DVE, one “floating” UltraChrome Chroma Keyer, 4 channels of MLE Store still store with MediaCache™ moving image play back. The Synergy 4 MD-X is used in the most advance newscasts and supports either HD or SD requirements or a mix of both.

OverDrive™ is a highly flexible production control system with a LiveLink™ MOS that can interface to the iNews newsroom editorial system. The extensive device control capabilities of the Synergy 4 MD-X digital production switcher combined with OverDrive gives the ability to execute a more consistent, efficient and sophisticated news production.

ABC has also recently purchased three Synergy 100 MD production switchers. The switchers will be installed in HD EC (Edit Control) Rooms in New York City by early 2007. The Synergy 100 MD will be used to edit and format HD programming and also to provide switching of playback evening programming.

NextRadioTV Deploys Extensive MediorNet Routing Solution From Riedel Communications

NextRadioTV has deployed a large-scale MediorNet real-time signal network from Riedel Communications to serve as the backbone for the broadcaster's brand-new audiovisual infrastructure.
