Zach Hollwedel dissects "Bright Night: Visions in Black & White," a compilation by Zach Prewitt of Plot Point Productions that showcases films with extraordinary black-and-white cinematography — including such recent films as A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, photographed by Lyle Vincent, and Ida, photographed by Ryszard Lenczewski and Lukasz Zal.

The video, Hollwedel says, "is proof positive that black-and-white is still an incredibly potent way to choose to tell a story and, under a skilled cinematographer, can make for an unrivaled moviegoing experience."
