David Wilson’s slow-building short film “B.E.N.” tells the story of an A.I. nurse caring for a woman named Claudine. The film is a PSA for The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and is intended to get people to consider volunteering for the organization.
“The brief was to create a short film that would use a slower pacing and connect to the intelligence of the viewer,” Wilson tells It’s Nice That. “It would take them on a journey from seeing the benefits of a robot companion or carer, to the realization that robots are no replacement for human compassion.”
