He explains, “I wanted to get a handle on how different cameras render skin tone on a close up. Tungsten and daylight. And how much work will it take in post to get a decent looking close up. That’s all I wanted to know. Because the closeup, for me, is the money shot with dramatic work. I also wanted an extremely simple test that can be easily repeated. This is one of the easiest tests for a camera- doesn’t try to break it at all.”
