Are you interested in working on and developing emergingtechnologies for nationally distributed TV and radio stations? TheUniversity of Washington is currently recruiting for a Video NetworkEngineer to design, manage, and improve operations for our televisionand radio services, UWTV and KEXP.

The Network Engineer will independently carry out needs assessment,design, construction and maintenance of systems and services such asvideo production and post production facilities, microwavecommunication systems, CATV systems, satellite communication, broadcasttransmission, two-way radio, campus communication infrastructure, someelectronic circuit design, and new construction of emergingtechnologies. The Video Network Engineer works at a very high technicaland responsibility level, directly performing complex tasks in supportof the engineering needs of a nationally televised channel with postproduction facilities and multiple distribution methods. The positionworks closely with the streaming team to integrate broadcast andinternet technologies.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree in E.E. or related fieldor 4 years equivalent training in television engineering AND four yearsof experience in television technologies. Experience should includecable TV and satellite, microwave and digital video technologies.

Additional requirements include, experience in engineering supportfor television broadcast facilities. Demonstrated familiarity withtelevision test equipment, microwave communications, and experience inplanning and operating satellite television equipment. Ability tocreate, read, and interpret engineering drawings and electrical andelectronics schematics. Must have excellent written and verbalcommunication skills.

Experience in streaming media preferred. Preference will be given tocandidates who have 7 or more years of experience.
