1 Beyond’s StreamMachine, an all-in-one video switcher, recorder and streaming encoder with graphics and media playback for live event production, now comes in five models designed for different needs. StreamMachine Edge ($3,995) is a compact desktop system for those who want a professional-quality broadcast on a smaller budget, while StreamMachine Portable ($8,495) and StreamMachine Portable Pro ($11,995) are all-in-one units with built-in monitor, keyboard and trackpad for those who want to take their production on the go. StreamMachine Studio ($5,995) and StreamMachine Studio Pro ($8,995) are sturdy rack units. All models have at least four HD-SDI inputs and can capture, stream and record 1080p. The Pro level units have more storage capacity, CPU power and eight HD-SDI inputs.
The JMR Lightning model LTNG-XD-8-MMDT is a desktop/DI cart workstation. The Mac mini installs via a slide-in sled from the rear, and the Lightning desktop provides front-panel USB 3.0, audio I/O and a media card reader, while the rear panel provides all other Mac connections. An internal Thunderbolt controller and two-slot PCIe (x8 full-height slots) expander with an internal 6Gb SAS RAID controller are standard, as well as eight 3.5-inch hot-swappable disk drive bays to provide up to 64 TB of native disk storage capacity in various RAID configurations. The desktop/cart unit has an optional 9-inch LCD flip-up monitor that connects to the Mac mini and may be added or removed in the field without tools. Output from a device running NewTek NDI Camera is automatically recognized by NDI-compatible receiving devices and has full support for connection notification and tally information. In addition, there is full control over focus, exposure and zoom.
