Dallas, TX– Continuing to demonstrate its commitment to making itsDLP Cinema technology the technology of choice for digital cinemaprojection applications, Texas Instruments today announced it will bedemonstrating a prototype DLP Cinema projector that displays 2Kresolution and is capable of projecting on the largest screens incommercial theatres.
The 2K resolution system is designed to broaden TI’s current DLPCinema technology offering by allowing its customers to develop a rangeof products intended to fill movie screens of all sizes with the clear,sharp DLP Cinema image. TI will demonstrate the prototype system toexhibitors and industry insiders at ShoWest 2003, March 3-6 in LasVegas, NV.
This system complements the current portfolio of DLP Cinematechnology-enabled products offered by manufacturers BARCO, Christie,and NEC Viewtechnology/Digital Projection International. TexasInstruments DLP Cinema technology has been commercially deployed foralmost four years, entertaining more than ten million movie-goers atover 110,000 shows in more than 150 theaters worldwide.
