Steven Bernstein, ASC Chats Live

Steven Bernstein, ASC will participate in a live Internet chat on the

International Cinematographers Guild’s (ICG)

website on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. (PST). The monthly Internet chats are a popular forum sponsored by ICG for its 6,000 nation-wide members, students, journalists, other filmmakers and fans around the world.

Bernstein studied philosophy and English literature at Cambridge University. After completing a stint in the Royal Air Force, Bernstein began his career at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). He was originally trained as a producer and writer, but segued into cinematography. By the early 1980s, Bernstein was in the first wave of the music video revolution that swept through England. That led him to opportunities to shoot many commercials. He segued into shooting independent movies, and organized a film cooperative in London, along with Gabriel Beristain, ASC.

Bernstein moved to Los Angeles during the mid-1990s. His subsequent body of work includes an extraordinarily eclectic range of some 25 narrative film credits, including The Waterboy, Monster, Murder at 1600, Scary Movie 2, Mr. Jealousy, The Wood, White Chicks and the upcoming One Night With the King.
