Sony EX1’s Small Form Factor Proves Invaluable on ‘Asperger’s Are Us’ Shoot

Cinematographer turned director Alex Lehmann talks to Filmmaker Magazine about lensing his debut documentary Asperger’s Are Us, about a unique improv comedy troupe.

“I mainly shot on the Sony EX1,” Lehmann explains. “It was affordable and a workhouse in the field. Also, it was very small, which meant I could go incognito shooting on trains, in malls, or just becoming invisible to the doc subject. B-roll was mostly shot on the Sony A7s. Once again, tiny, incognito, also a great low-light camera.”
