and the SoCal Film Group announced their partnership on the “Lost Weekend” short film competition to be held at the 2006 Silver Lake Film Festival. Taking part the first weekend of the festival (March 24-26), the “Lost Weekend” gives teams of contestants 48 hours to conceive, write, cast, film, edit, and premiere a short film, based on specific parameters assigned at the beginning of the contest.
The contest will officially begin on the evening of Friday, March 24 when the filmmaking teams receive their instructions. Teams then have until the evening of Sunday, March 26 at 7 p.m. to complete their films. Spaces are limited so interested filmmakers are encouraged to visit the
as soon as possible to obtain information on contest entry.
The completed films will be shown at a special Silver Lake Film Festival screening at the Monte Cristo club (3100 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles) on March 28. Prior to the viewing, all films will be reviewed and judged by a special panel appointed by SoCal Film
Group. At the screening, the “Lost Weekend” awards will be announced, along with prizes provided by participating sponsors.
The 6th Annual Silver Lake Film Festival will be held March 23-31, 2006 in Los Angeles at the ArcLight Cinemas Hollywood and throughout venues in Silver Lake and surrounding communities.
