Polly Morgan Hides in the Bushes (Literally) to Capture ‘Holy Hell’

Director Will Allen’s documentary Holy Hell documents his 20 years living as part of a cult and culminates with clandestine footage of the cult leader himself. To shoot it, cinematographer Polly Morgan used Canon 7D, Canon 5D Mark III, and Canon C300 cameras–literally hiding behind bushes for some of the shoot.

“I needed multiple cameras that were inexpensive, small and lightweight for travel and that would be unobstructive,” explains Morgan. “And the 70-200mm was good for long lens photography when I was hiding in the bushes.”
