Paolo Sorrentino Says ‘The Great Beauty’ Is More Than Just About Italian Politics

The Great Beauty director Paolo Sorrentino explains how he wanted his film to have universal themes and not just be a statement on Italy.

He says to Indiewire, “I find Italian politics extremely boring and not long-lasting. I want for my movie to reflect feelings that people feel everywhere. Wasting time is something that people do or feel all over the world, not just in Italy.”
