SECAUCUS, NJ–HD EXPO announced it is offering a series of three-dayworkshops, dubbed “VariCamp,” on Panasonic’shighly-popular AJ-HDC27 VariCam variable-frame-rate HD Cinema Camera.The three-day “VariCamp” workshops will begin this summerand conclude in January 2004. The first workshop is in Los Angeles onJuly 24th, 25th and 26th; followed by Chicago on August 21st, 22nd and23rd; onto Washington D.C. on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th; in New YorkCity on October 16th, 17th and 18th; and then a return to Los Angeleson January 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2004.
The “VariCamp” workshop will educate the production andpost production community by providing in-depth instruction onVariCam’s feature/benefits and proper shooting techniques, andwill be taught by leading cinematographers, who use the camera daily toacquire films, television programs, commercials and corporateproductions. “The VariCamp workshops will provide an excellenteducational opportunity for the experienced DP through the first-timeuser to obtain hands-on, detail-oriented instruction on VariCam’spowerful benefits and to also learn real-world acquisition techniquesfrom leading cinematographers,” said Stuart English, VicePresident, Marketing, Panasonic Broadcast.
The workshops will provide both classroom instruction and hands-on,one-on-one training on VariCam in working studio and field productionenvironments. Workshop instructors have extensive experience within theHD production community, from television to independent films, fromcommercials to documentaries and corporate.
