“Part of the signature look is attributable to the fact that we do shoot on film,” says director of photography Michael Goi about the look achieved on American Horror Story: Hotel.
“I love shooting on film. For me, there’s a richness and a texture,” he continues in the video below. “We can create a lot of different looks and a lot of different styles at the time we shoot it by choosing which different film stocks we use, by choosing how we process that film stock.”
