Watch the video from Martin Scorsese’s Q&A session after a screening of The Wolf of Wall Street at the DGA in which, among other things, he explains the physicality of directing the movie and why he chose to never meet the real-life subject of the film.
He says, “I never met [Jordan Belfort]….Same thing with Henry Hill in Goodfellas, I never met him. Because I wanted to keep it clear in my head to make my picture. I’m not making a film about the real Henry Hill or the real Jordan [Belfort].”
