Made in Network is a YouTube-certified multichannel network based in Nashville. They create original video programming and series alongside creators, as well as custom video integrations for clients. Made in Network was recently in search of equipment to build out their new production facility and chose a complement of Sony products including cameras, lenses and audio gear.
Producer and director Brad Cash uses many lenses on the FS7, but says of the camera’s stock lens, “To have a really versatile lens like the telephoto 28-135 with the servo zoom that comes with the FS7 is amazing when you’re not quite sure what you’re going to run into.” He continues, “Alternately, when you have more time and you’re going for a more cinematic look, it’s great to throw on a 50 prime and get a beautiful shot exactly how you want it.”
Creative director Jourdan Lees adds, “We can use interchangeable lenses with the FS7 to get different shots, so it’s easy to take the camera on the go, as well as to use it stable and mounted. For a recent video we shot on the FS7, we used Sony’s 70-200mm lens for beautiful, crisp shots with a shallow depth of field. We were then able to easily switch to the 24-70 and get a nice wide shot. All the lenses we’ve used have been really responsive. They’re clear, solid and beautiful.”
