Imagecraft Productions’ service slate spans the gamut, from renting post gear to building infrastructure workflows and providing tech support for high-profile clients like CBS and Comedy Central. When in the market for a new 4K recorder, Imagecraft took AJA’s Ki Pro 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD playback and recording device for a test run. Shortly after, the company added an arsenal of Ki Pro Ultras to its rental pool.
“I’ve lost count of how many Ki Pro Ultras we have because we keep buying more to keep up with the demand,” says Imagecraft president Jason Been. “Our clients love them, and we do, too. They’re stable, come with 4K/HD record options and every flavor in between, and help us better handle media to avoid crash and burn.”
Ki Pro Ultra has helped streamline the development and supervision of client workflows on site, with Ki Pro Ultra 2.0’s Avid DNxHD support removing the need to transcode. “Ki Pro Ultra is ultra efficient and easy to use—a lot more plug and play than what we’ve used in the past,” adds Been. “If we need to make changes, we can jump into the menu, make them and we’re good to go.”
He adds, “Ki Pro Ultra is a little machine that packs a lot of power, and that’s important, especially when we are traveling the globe for our clients.”
