Go Behind-the-Scenes of ‘La La Land”s Incredible Steadicam Work

La La Land Steadicam operator Ari Robbins has posted some fabulous behind-the-scenes videos on his Instagram that show off the coordination and skills it took to film Damien Chazelle’s Oscar-nominated musical.

The first video is a peek at the film’s opening number, which consisted of three long takes stitched together.

Robbins test out his own coordination below as he steps up and down crates all while keeping his eye on the viewfinder to grab the perfect shot.

Nothing on #lalaland was easy. Everything was a bit more then average and that’s what made it so much fun. #steadicam #tiffencompany #panavision #anamorphic #shootfilm
