The director who brought us Se7en has tapped into the dark side again with the Christmastime release of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Hot off of the success of The Social Network, director David Fincher dove straight into this cinematic adaptation of Swedish writer Stieg Larsson’s worldwide publishing phenomenon. Even though a Swedish film based on the book had been released in 2009, Fincher took on the project, bringing his own special touch.
The January 2012 edition of Digital Video featured three stories about the film:
- The Post Pipeline for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Oliver Peters
- David Fincher and Jeff Cronenweth Explore Darkness and Light on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by David Heuring
- Conforming and Compositing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Assistant Editor Tyler Nelson, GDT Editorial
